Catherine Mikelson

Cellist/Director of Baltimore Projects and Evaluation, Weinberg Villages and Manors

Catherine Mikelson is an active performer in the Baltimore and Washington, D.C. area.  She is a member of the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra and is regularly engaged by the National Philharmonic and the Olney Theatre.  She has been celebrated for her “wonderful work” (Broadway World) and for her “glowing” tone (Washington Post). She holds degrees from the Peabody Conservatory of Music and Carnegie Mellon University.

Catherine is a passionate cello teacher with an active teaching studio.  Having done extensive Suzuki Method training, she believes that “where love is deep, much can be accomplished.”  She tries to apply that philosophy to all things in her life.

When Catherine isn’t performing or teaching, she can be found in her garden with her veggies and native plants, reading a book, or spending time with her husband Peter, her daughter Margot, and 2 cats Sunny and Josie.
